About ACN
The ACN Mission
The Association of Consultants to Nonprofits develops, strengthens, and promotes its members as providers of best practice consulting services to the nonprofit community.
ACN History
ACN was founded in 1989 as CATAP (Chicago Area Technical Assistance Providers). Today, the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits continues to be Chicago's only professional forum for the full range of consulting services available to nonprofits. ACN is a professional society managed by its members on a volunteer basis. Membership is open to individuals and organizations providing services to nonprofit clients.
Helping make your vision a reality
ACN serves member consultants and the NFP community in direct, pragmatic ways:
• Our online consultant directory offers detailed consultant listings indexed by practice categories so you can quickly and easily find the right consultant.
• ACN presents monthly programs on topics important to the nonprofit community, such as the use of technology, media relations, and funders' perspectives on consulting and outsourcing. Upcoming ACN events are regularly posted online.
• ACN provides crucial resources and networking opportunities to connect nonprofits and consultants. Through our members-only email listserv, ACN consultants exchange business opportunities quickly, pose questions, and discuss issues. Our members-only newsletter details ACN news and covers trends and issues in the nonprofit community. ACN's online resources include info and links useful to both consultants and not-for-profit organizations.
• Nonprofits can send RFPs directly to ACN for distribution to ACN members via listserv.
