Dan Baron writes about social issues for a wide range of nonprofit organizations, government agencies, universities and others working on housing, violence prevention, health care, education and many other topics.
Dan focuses on working with organizations as a strategist, writer and fundraiser who communicates key messages – and reaches the right audiences – in a powerful way. In addition to writing grant proposals, he has written and edited many newsletters, annual and anniversary reports, brochures, media kits, manuals and other publications.
For more than 20 years, Dan has worked as a writer for nonprofits as well as a journalist and columnist for newspapers and magazines in the Chicago area, including The Times of Northwest Indiana and Chicago Parent magazine. He holds a BA in English/Rhetoric and History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
