Cathy Lieberman is the Principal at CDL Business
Consulting. Her
non-profit leadership was established over the last eight years. She has
worked extensively with non-profits as a volunteer, board member, board chair,
administrator and consultant.
In her administrator roles, she was the Executive Director
at the Solomon Schechter Day School in Northbrook, IL and the Chief Financial
Officer of the Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago, IL. Both
schools are independent, co-educational day schools serving children from
pre-school through grade eight. Cathy directed the finance,
technology, development and facilities staff and was successful in building
strong teams and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the protection
and growth of Day School assets during her tenure.
Cathy also had a broad corporate career at
AT&T. In her last position at SBC Communications, Inc, she was
the Executive Director of Customer Identification and Account Marking in
Corporate Finance. In this position, she served as the control point for
the segmentation of business accounts across 5 regions and 13 states. She
led a team of 40 employees, streamlined the customer identification and
segmentation processes, and chaired a steering committee providing vision and
direction.
In addition to successful careers in both for-profit and non-profit, Cathy
has been an active volunteer and spokesperson for the American Cancer Society
for the past eight years. Through her role as the chair of
the Chicago Community Leadership board and its advocacy committee, she
demonstrated excellence in organization, administration and project management
by directing and developing four key committees. Her recent article, Strategic Planning for
Organizational Success was published in the Philanthropic Journal in May, 2010.
Cathy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Methods from the
University of Illinois with an academic emphasis in statistics and information
technology.
