Company Profile

Company Overview
Jessica Waddell’s (owner, Nonprofit Consulting, LLC in Knoxville, TN) journey into public health and nonprofit leadership began 17 years ago, picking up two master’s degrees (Strategic and Public Health) along the way.

I'm not your typical grant writer—and that's exactly why you should work with me. With a background in nonprofit leadership, public health, and strategic planning, I bring real-world experience and passion to every project.

I don’t just write grants; I craft compelling narratives that reflect your mission and drive success. I partner with you to turn vision into action—and celebrate the wins along the way.

***Real-World Experience You Can Trust***

1. Proven Leadership & Results:
I led teams in nonprofit professional associations to consistently surpass annual sales goals.

2. Strategic Planning at Scale:
I co-authored Tennessee's 5-Year Plan for Addressing Cancer in 2019 as part of the CDC-funded Tennessee Cancer Coalition.

3. Heart-Led Community Impact:
Partnering with grantees to cover electric bills, fund holiday memories, and offer support when it was needed most remains one of the highlights of my career.

4. Expertise & Tenacity:
With master’s degrees in Strategic Leadership and Public Health, I bring over 15 years of nonprofit experience and 10 years in public health.

5. Integrity & Accountability:
I’ve made tough calls as a nonprofit board member and even resigned when I thought it best.

**Why Choose Us?**

1. Strategy First:
We help you develop a comprehensive approach to grant funding before writing a single word. This ensures every proposal aligns with your bigger picture.

2. Capacity Building:
We serve as an extension of your leadership, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time employee.

3. I've Worn (Or At Least Borrowed) Many Hats
I've developed strategic plans and mission action plans, served on advisory and governance boards, attended Hill Days, planned and delivered educational and fundraising events, worked with corporate sponsors, coached volunteer leaders, tested folks for HIV and HepC, served on and led community coalitions, trimmed budgets, managed a community grant funding program, and even published original peer-reviewed research!

4. Affordable Impact:
Expand your fundraising capacity without the cost of a full-time employee. We deliver expert results at a fraction of the price.

5. Social Justice Framework:
I prioritize issues of equity, disparities, and injustices and prefer working with vulnerable populations. I have completed trauma-informed skills delivery training, developed cultural awareness programs, and received a master's-level education in the multigenerational impact of individual and systemic issues like poverty, racism, and oppression.

Testimonial 2
“I firmly believe that Jessica will be most successful due to her unremitting insight into the power of education, growth and development, and most importantly teaching as a tool for the exchange of ideas. Jessica throughout her career and academic pursuits has developed a keen ability to define and articulate concepts while engaging others in active discussions and project implementation. She also knows that leading, teaching and even mentoring is built on creativity, trust and patience. Absence of these, it is impossible for the learner to connect with their work or their studies.”
- Dr. S.M., Chief Learning Officer, National Nonprofit Based in Knoxville, TN
Testimonial 3
